Your CXcherry platform allows you to add/update users via CSV files. This is useful in cases where you want to add/update multiple users in bulk which is a time-consuming process if it is done through screen.

Comma-Separated Values (CSV) files store tabular data in plain text. Each line of a CSV file is a data record/row. Each record/row consists of one or more fields/columns separated by a delimiter.

CSV files can be created with several software programs (i.e. Excel, Open Office, Google Sheets, Notepad, TextEdit, Emacs). The content within the file must follow the CSV Standard format, and the file must have a “.csv” file extension.

To add/update users via a CSV file, log in to your CXcherry platform as the Super Admin. Click on the gear icon in the header and select Manage Users item. On the Manage Users page, press the Import via File button. In the slide-out panel, you will see acceptable values for user fields like Level and Language.

You can download the sample file by clicking on the Sample file button on page. This will give the format of the CSV file in which you need to add user data. Once you have added the required data, you can upload/drag/drop the CSV file to the upload area. Your CXcherry platform can process only one file at a time.

Once your platform has finished processing all the user records within the CSV file, you will get an alert which will indicate how many user records from the total records were added successfully. In case there were issues in adding some of the user records, you will get an error file which will provide a reason for failure of the corresponding user records.

All the user records without any errors are added with ‘Enabled’ status. If email address has been added for users and Notification to User for account creation by Super Admin notification is enabled, platform will send email notification to users so that they can choose their own password by using set password link in the email notification.

If a user record already exists in the platform, their information is overwritten during the file upload process. If there are more than one updates (multiple records/rows) for a user record in the CSV file, the last record/row is considered as the most updated information.
